PTG Travel Recognized at Road Safety Annual Awards for

Best use of Technology

PTG Travel has been awarded for best use of online technology in the provision of taxi services across Kenya. PTG received the award from Safety Plus Consulting at the just concluded 22nd Annual Safety Awards Ceremony held at the Tamarind Hotel, Nairobi.

Upon receiving the award Mr.Justus Kirigua, PTG Travel Managing Director, said, “This award, is a testament to our customer-first attitude which ensures all our clients are well catered for in  a safe, efficient, and quality service environment. This is a culture we’ve grown and nurtured with PTG.”

He added, "This award affirms our commitment to continue delivering greater convenience to clients and contribute to innovating corporate transport solutions in the Kenyan market."

According to the National Transport Safety Authority, (NTSA) over 4000 people die annually from road accidents. “This is the reason for stakeholders in the sector to embrace both practical preventative strategies like driver training and defensive driving road safety refresher courses, as well as leverage technology like our 24-hour contact center which also serves in monitoring the number of hours each of our drivers is on the road to reduce the incidents of driver fatigue,” explained Justus.

PTG Travel’s app (available on Playstore and iOS) helps drivers to pick the best routes giving them up-to-date traffic updates.

Steven Wakoli a PTG driver says that this feature is especially useful when he is doing time-sensitive airport transfers or moving around the city during peak hours where real-time traffic updates sent directly from our 24 hour contact centre to the App ensures he eliminates guesswork from decisions related to the fastest route-to-destination.

“Additionally we receive driver safety training every year to keep up to the highest standards of road safety and comfort for all our clients.”

To cushion our drivers from high fuel costs, PTG introduced a 5% fuel rebate; this enables them to maintain their earnings despite the volatile fuel prices. “This is a first for any Kenyan travel company and it’s the reason why more drivers choose to work with PTG Travel,” said Justus.

PTG has been implementing a three-year growth strategy which includes a Kshs.100M investment to grow its fleet and increase its services to include Bus services, VIP services, and Charter Flight. Services like corporate transport sharing and Air Charter will greatly enhance road safety and ease congestion on Kenyan roads.
